Hotel Accomodations
Occasionally, the child must undergo treatment far from the
family home, making visits & appointments difficult and costly. Imagine how this can add up over the course of a several weeks or months of
treatment. The TBCF helps to ease this financial burden by offering free hotel
accommodations to immediate family during an emergency or an unusually extended
hospital stay.
It is critical to the child’s recovery that their parents or guardians
are with them every step of the way. Imagine the fear a child with cancer faces,
having to undergo surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy in an unfamiliar
environment filled with strangers. Beginning with the initial diagnosis, the
process is commonly measured in terms of years, not days or months. These
children require their parents’ love and support, the familiar family structure
they knew before getting sick.
